Simon Roy is a wayward son of Vancouver Island, who cut his comics teeth in 2009 with Jan’s Atomic Heart, and has been vigorously gnawing ever since. He’s worked with publishers and clients such as Dark Horse, Image Comics, Dreamworks and more. His comics include Habitat, Tiger Lung, Prophet, The Field, and, most recently, the high fantasy, graphic novel Griz Grobus. His new book A Star Called The Sun, featuring colours by Sergei Nazarov and Drew Shields, is available in February from Image Comics.

A Star Called the Sun, revisits the same far-future universe as Simon’s previous works—Habitat and Griz Grobus, and charts a kaleidoscopic journey through the future of humanity and technology across cosmic tales: “Hale-Bopp,” “The Oxpecker and the Elephant,” “Pride of the Central Republic,” “A Portrait of the Artist as Hive Parasite,” “The Ansible,” “The Anchoress,” and finally “Vanguard.” This expansive tome is shaped by robotic clergy, post-human hive minds, immortal cyborgs, and the lingering impact of ancient alien civilizations.
